    48 hours without electricity? For many people in The Gambia, that has become a reality. Months of severe power cuts have pushed protesters to the streets, burning tyres and chanting “Barrow must go!” President Adama Barrow has now called the electricity crisis a “national security issue” and says power supply is expected to improve by October 2026.
