Tala dam dispute

Leaders from Tala in Machakos county have protested plans by the county government to convert 3-acre land of Tala Dam into a bus park. The leaders led by Dr Charles Kyalo Kilonzo, say that they will not allow the draining of the dam, which they say is a lifeline of hundreds of people who rely on the water from the dam. The dam was allegedly constructed by the locals to serve them as source of drinking water, and irrigation for the farmland.
