KALRO unveils bird-resistant sorghum varieties to boost yields

Kenyan scientists have made a major breakthrough in the fight against bird damage on sorghum farms. The Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, KALRO, has unveiled five new sorghum varieties that either escape or repel birds, promising to end years of frustration for smallholder farmers who have suffered massive post-harvest losses.
