Members of public have a week to submit memoranda contesting the nomination of 11 Cabinet Secretary nominees forwarded to the National Assembly by the President. In a paid up advert by the Clerk of the National Assembly Samuel Njoroge, members of the public are required to submit any representations they may have, by way of a written affidavit with supporting evidence contesting the suitability of any of the nominees. The National Assembly Appointments committee chaired by Speaker Moses Wetangula will consider the petitions against nominees when it commences approval hearings. The vetting exercise will last for 28 days after which the committee will compile a report to be debated in the National Assembly.
