Religious leaders in Nakuru and Migori counties have castigated the move by the national assembly to approve new tax regulations on churches that have in the past enjoyed tax exemptions. Speaking at first united Methodist church in Kuria West, Migori, reverend Kennedy Mwita pointed out that the legislations will create a rift between the government and the church, adding that the church will initiate legal avenues to stop the bill. In Nakuru County, the association of Pentecostal churches and training institute rejected in totality the bill targeting churches and other institutions saying that public participation ought to have been conducted to incorporate their views.
