Security tightened as Africa Forward Summit kicks off in Nairobi

Preparations are complete ahead of the inaugural Africa Forward Summit that will be graced by French President Emmanuel Macron and host President William Ruto, with expectations of attendance by more than 30 other heads of state and government. The meeting will deliberate on trade, infrastructure, security and health among other critical issues affecting the continent. The National Police Service says security has been beefed up, with specialised units including anti-terror police and the Kenya Defence Forces positioned at all venues where the two-day high-level summit will be staged.
