Nakuru County is under scrutiny as one of the counties with the highest cases of land grabbing in Kenya. According to the ethics and anti-corruption commission, properties worth 20 billion Kenyan shillings are currently under investigation, with 9 billion already subject to legal proceedings. The revelation comes as the EACC makes headway in the recovery of a public land valued at kshs 100 million, allegedly grabbed by a private developer in collusion with a former land commissioner in Nakuru. This comes even as 4 national museums of Kenya have been arrested over fraudulent payments.
