Demolitions carried out on disputed Marurui Land under heavy police guard

Hundreds of police officers were today deployed in Marurui, Kiambu County, along the Northern Bypass as houses were demolished on a disputed 300-acre piece of land. Residents claim they were not issued with eviction notices and say a court order stopping the demolitions was ignored. The evictions have left several families homeless, with conflicting claims over ownership of the land now at the centre of the dispute. Ben Chumba reports.
