Review of 2013 National Environment Policy is underway with Key focus being: green job creation, ecosystem restoration, disaster risk reduction, mainstreaming environmental education and strengthening climate resilience at all levels. Environment Cabinet secretary Deborah Barasa says that the 2013 environment policy framework is long overdue and with the new emerging climate crisis, a new approach is needed.
