What began as a small fishing village for the ethnic Luo community due to its strategic location on the shores of Lake Victoria has over the time morphed into the present day Homabay town, which serves as the headquarters of Homabay County, the host of this year's Madaraka Day celebrations. Locals have attributed its steady growth to the arrival of devolution. Our very own Wycliffe Oketch engaged the locals as well as the leadership of the town and here now is his report.
